Shiraishi is the current, undisputed king of Japanese horror, probably
best known for his 'found footage' masterpiece NOROI.
But, despite being a very prolific director [almost 100 movies since
1990], he has also proven to be extremely versatile. While initially
making his mark with the mock-documentary style, he has also helmed
horror pictures as varied as blockbuster [SADAKO
VS KAYAKO] to mainstream [TEKE-TEKE]
to torture-porn [GROTESQUE].
Now, Koji has delivered a wildly perverse, offensive, brutal, satirical
- yet endearing - motion picture that is easily his masterpiece. But
please note: this film is NOT for everyone.
Chuya
is a man haunted by a mysterious yet seemingly violent past. Essentially,
that is the reason he now hides in a place literally infested with killers,
thugs and rapists. Chuya is a new employee, working for a gang of assassins.
But as the "newbie," his life is hell; he is constantly harassed
and viciously tormented by his co-workers. Chuya is given the chance
to escape when Shiori asks him to run away with her. But their destiny
takes an unusual turn when a mysterious transvestite serial killer crosses
their path.
