This
film is based on a horrific incident that occurred in Mardin, a Southeastern
Anatolian city in Turkey. At the center of the movie is Araf (Adnan Koc),
a man driven insane by a tragedy nine years previous, leading to the death
of his wife and daughter. He is now tormented by visions which are now
pushing him to the edge of suicide. Araf's crippled sister Zehra (Eda
Oguz) is his only link to the real world. Things are complicated by the
involvement of his uncle Burhan (Sakiragaoglu) in the nine year old incident.
However, as most horror/cult fans have learned, the story is secondary
to the visuals in a film by Alper Mestci. For this movie, he goes further
with gore and mayhem than ever before.
Alper Mestci is best
known for the SICCIN
series (audiences are currently anticipating number 7) and the BLACK
MAGIC series, movies that have redefined the horror genre in Turkey
and the world. This particular film appears to be the first in a new series
by Mestici that will concentrate on more Xtreme horror, thus the International
rating 18+.
