Anthony Wong was
born Anthony Chau-Sang Wong, September 1961 in Hong Kong.
He is arguably the most intense actor in Chinese Cinema,
starring in over 200 films since 1985.
He has won two Golden Horse Awards for Acting (equivalent to America's
Oscar).
The first was for his psychotic performance in UNTOLD
STORY
and the second was for BEAST
COPS.
This is a collection of his lost but significant Category III movies.

Hai Shan
The
life of businessman Kin (Anthony Wong) is shattered when his pregnant
wife gets run over by a careless taxi driver. This and another incident
with a sleazy cab driver causes Kin to go on a mission of murderous
vengeance against taxi drivers. The grim story is directed by Herman
Yau, the filmmaker who rose to fame when he assisted Danny Lee in the
making of Wong's UNTOLD
STORY the year before.

Anthony
Wong stars as Inspector Hung, a hip laid-back cop who heads his branch
of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau. During a fierce gun battle
between the OCTB and a gang of mainland criminals, Hung's prized possession
[namely, Deep Purple's rare Live in Osaka album) is destroyed.
After the dust settles, Inspector Hung is assigned to assist mainland
Chinese officer Wong Run in apprehending the criminals and sending them
back to China. The whole thing becomes uncomfortable when they get involved
with a beautiful night club hostess who has ties to the Chinese gang.
Kirk Wong has directed a superb crime actioner here,
on par with some of the best John Woo films. It also stars Carrie Ng,
fresh from her notable films NAKED
KILLER and FATAL
SEDUCTION. A decade later she would make the outrageous genre
film SEX
MEDUSA.

Four: UNDERGROUND
BANKER (1994)

After
the Tong family moves into a new apartment, things start going badly.
His wife (played by Mei Ching) runs into some personal money problems
and secretly borrows funds from the local Triads. Eventually her debt
is turned over to a deadly loan shark known as the underground banker.
While her trucker husband is away on business, she is raped, drugged,
and forced into prostitution. Upon his return home, Tong goes to the
banker to plead on his wife's behalf but he is beaten and humiliated.
His wife gets killed, his son disfigured and the home is destroyed.
There's only one thing Tong can do... he goes to his neighbor for help.
That neighbor happens to be Dr Lamb (yes, from the famous character
from the CAT III film DR
LAMB!) who is now free out of jail and anxious to get back into
killing.
